Beginning of the year display after the pandemic. All students were invited to create a hand-print and declare their return to school. K's created these simple prints. Upper grades had more choice in how they were going to represent themselves. Inspired by Patagonian Cave Paintings.
Cherry Blossom season is an event every March/April in the Metro DC area. Each year students created Cherry Blossom art appropriate to their grade level. This was a fun one-day project for upper grade students who were shown how to make a paper cherry blossom and then created their own system for mass-producing these.
Mask-Making unit teaching color theory. This display featured student artwork along with one student's preliminary sketch for their work as an example of the process.
Displays often feature information about an artist or concept that inspired the project. In this case students looked at some landscapes by the photographer, Gordon Parks, in order to understand the concept of value before proceeding with this painting.
